Green Tree: Dye/Lateral Testing

What happens during the test

  • The plumber performs a dye test on the property.
  • A camera goes through the entire sewer lateral, from the house to the Borough's main sewer, and the video goes to the Borough with the plumber's report.
  • The Borough's Building Code Official reviews the report and video and issues a pass or fail.

If the test fails

If the inspection fails, the Building Code Official gives the owner a list of the problems. The Borough makes all final decisions on what repairs are required. Call the Borough Office at 412-921-1110.
